Leslie Roth discussing money mindset on the Financially Adjusted podcast, emphasizing purpose-driven financial growth and using money as a tool for impact

In the world of entrepreneurship, money isn’t just about making ends meet; it’s about making it work for us and driving towards our bigger mission. But our past experiences and emotions around money can heavily influence how we view it today. Shifting our money mindset to viewing it as simply a tool for purpose and impact can be a powerful game-changer and can help remove a lot of the negative emotions and avoidance we have around money.

Money is neither inherently good nor bad; it’s a medium that allows us to make our dreams happen. Reflecting on this allows us to embrace a healthier, empowered approach to finances. In episode 27 of the Financially Adjusted podcast, I explore this very topic, discussing ways to align finances with your business mission and bigger “why.” (You’ll see a link to that episode at the bottom of this blog post.)

Here’s how you can shift your money mindset so you can transform your business and life:

  1. Understanding Money as a Tool: Money’s real power is its potential to bring your mission to life. When we think of money in this way, it removes a lot of the negative emotions that often accompany financial management. It’s simply a medium and a necessary resource you need to attain your goals and reach your bigger purpose. You have the ability to change your life with tool and the lives around you!
  2. Defining Your Why: Remember why you started your business. What impact do you want to make? Reconnect with your mission to fuel intentional and purposeful financial choices. Revisit it often so you can get reinspired and make money management fun!
  3. Inspiration from Impact-Driven Entrepreneurs: Learn about other entrepreneurs and use their stories to inspire you. In episode 27, I share some entrepreneurial stories that have inspired me so be sure to tune in. So many amazing people have used their business success to make their dreams come true and the dreams of others around them. There is no limit to the positive impact you can make in this world. The only limitation is in our minds.
  4. Reframe Negative Money Thoughts: Simple reframes like shifting “I’m not a numbers person” to “I’m learning to understand my finances” can make a huge difference in overcoming barriers to financial clarity. When you stop allowing the same negative mental thought loops to run in your mind, you’ll be amazed at how you can transform your life and your business.

Managing finances doesn’t have to be overwhelming or purely tactical. Aligning your money with a greater purpose transforms financial management into a tool for growth and impact. By making this shift, you’ll find the process of managing your finances not only more effective but also more fulfilling.
