My Favorite Financial Tools, Software, & Services
Nov 21, 2024Managing your business finances doesn’t have to feel like an uphill battle. We are in the age of information overwhelm and it can be daunting to choose the tools we need. My goal is to provide insight into the tools that work best for me in my business.
With the right tools and systems, you can streamline your bookkeeping, stay organized, and make smarter financial decisions.
In this post, I’m highlighting some of the best tools for small business owners and entrepreneurs and ones that are tried and true for me personallly:
- QuickBooks Online: My go-to accounting software for bookkeeping. I use this personally in my own businesses and I require that my clients use this to work with me. It’s incredibly user-friendly and has an app with features like mileage tracking and receipt management. You can also easily add your accountant or bookkeeper as an accountant user so they can see and manage your books from their accountant dashboard. (very nice for collaborating at tax time and all throughout the year)
- EveryDollar Budgeting App: A simple and free tool for managing your business and personal budgets. This works great as an app on your phone or on your browser.
- Tip: Use this for budgeting with a spouse and/or business partner. You can each have the login and easily have a budget meeting while viewing your budget at the same time. VERY convenient!
- You can also enter transactions and make tweaks to your budget on the go!
- Relay Financial: This is a business-only bank with features for account organization and employee debit card controls. Relay allows for many different checking and savings accounts that can be used for different purposes in your business and make it so easy to manage your finances!
- Monday.com: A versatile CRM and project management tool to keep your tasks and teams on track. I use this in my bookkeeping business as well as in my online education business. I can add my employees and assign tasks to various people. This allows everyone to stay on the same page with a project. Love it!
- Dropbox and Google Drive: Reliable systems for organizing and accessing your digital files. Dropbox is paid and Google Drive is free.
- Dropbox is what I prefer for more of a user-friendly experience. I use this to store personal and business files.
- Google Drive is free and is a very handy tool in business, especially if you want to easily share spreadsheets and documents among team members and/or clients.
With these tools, you’ll set yourself up for financial success while saving time and energy.
